26 Things I'm Thankful For

First of all, I'd like to wish anyone who is taking the time to read this blog on Thanksgiving -- or any other day for that matter -- a very Happy Thanksgiving.

We might blog over the weekend if something monumental happens.  Tomorrow, we'll feature another Carrie Muskat inbox query, and we'll have a big surprise for Monday's edition.

And now, for what you've all been waiting for, 26 (because today is Nov. 26) things I am thankful for.

I am thankful for...
  1. ... the Cubs new owners, who will hopefully have as much success with their baseball team as they did with their previous endeavors.
  2. ... Joakim Noah's newfound maturity on the basketball court. It's starting to translate in a big way as Derrick Rose's go-to-guy in the post.
  3. ... Lance Briggs, for the Bears would have nothing that resembles a defense without No. 55.
  4. ... the return of Marian Hossa.
  5. ... Derrick Rose.
  6. ... the fact that Chris Lowery has yet to leave Southern Illinois for presumably greener pastures.
  7. ... the Internet.
  8. ... Devin Hester and Johnny Knox's speed.
  9. ... the Chicago Blackhawks front office, for reviving a team that once was lower on the totem pole than an AHL hockey organization.
  10. ... Wrigley Field.
  11. ... Chicago not getting the Olympics because I'm hoping it serves as a wake-up call to a city that has much more pressing issues.
  12. ... Dale Lennon.
  13. ... Ty Lawson's speed, Tyler Hansbrough's strength and Wayne Ellington's jump shot.
  14. ... road trips.
  15. ... road beef.
  16. ... Twitter.
  17. ... a playoff system at the Football Championship Subdivision level.
  18. ... new, more attractive blog layouts.
  19. ... Comiskey Park.  Where else are you going to find an affordable baseball ticket.
  20. ... G-Reg and the 7th Floor Crew.
  21. ... friends & family..
  22. ... college bands.
  23. ... hirejimessian.com.
  24. ... the entire TBDS staff.
  25. ... Baseball Tonight.
  26. ... TBDS fans and readers.
Thanks for reading.  Now go spend time with your families and some grub!
