Some of my friends consider me to be a Chicago elitist. I don't care. My home town is the third largest media market in the country and I wish the professional teams that played there treated their teams like they were in that kind of market. The City of Wind is not the place where a head coach gets his feet wet, for we leave that for middle-market cities we use as a feeder system.
(E.g.: How the Chicago Cubs treat the Pittsburgh Pirates.)
The Bulls are 10-16 so far this season. One of their 16 losses happens to be one of the two wins the New Jersey Nets have all year. They've been blown out too many times to care to count, and might as well be blown up. So if that doesn't stir the pot, this quote should.
(Via The Trib)
"Players win games. We got complacent. Everyone takes the blame. It's me, it's the players. You ... learn from it and get better."
Vinny probably should have stopped at "It's me."
However, he forgot to mention one figure who seemingly always goes without blame.
Jerry Reinsdorf.
Yep. Here I am again ready to rip Reinsdorf with the same lines about him not caring about his basketball team and how much he puts into his baseball team. Blah. Blah. Blah. I'll spare you the details and ask you to search through our archives in your free time.
Instead, I'd like for you to consider this.
If the Chicago Bears blew a 35-point lead to the Detroit Lions at home, how would you, the Chicago sports fan, feel?
Don't worry ... I'll wait.
In the meantime, anyone know if Tom Ricketts has any more loot to throw around at another Chicago pro franchise?
